Chess is a very famous game to play. You’re either on the team black or white. You got to checkmate your opponent’s king in order to win. But have you ever heard the saying, “Life is just like Chess?” We are going to take a dive into that! Hello everyone my name is Abdul Jabbar the motivational speaker in today’s motivational talk. And in today’s video, we are going to talk about how life is just like chess.
Each team has a total number of 16 pieces which means there are 32 pieces in a whole game of chess. There are 1 king, 1 queen, 2 rooks, 2 bishops, 2 knights, 8 pawns. Luck is almost never a thing in chess. It’s just like Life. You can’t succeed if you depend on your luck. Your 4 leaf clovers, your penny you picked up which is heads up. Nope, you can’t succeed with those. It’s just trying to get to the x on the map. The x is a success so in order to get there, we got to climb the stairs of failure. You got to have the determination to go up. You can’t stop. If you stop, are who going to be there to do it for you? Is it your butler or your mom or dad? Keep going up. I bet you’re going to say to me after your 17 steps on the staircase to success, “Man, I am tired, why do I have to go”. Well, guess what, why ask me why you have to go, you’re the one who took your courage to go up the first step. Yes, I know Failure can be something that can make us feel down or sad. But just learn from your mistakes. In chess, if you lose the first round, just remember by losing something, it’s just a way for you to learn a new way to win it. I didn’t fail the test, I just found 100 ways to do it wrong - Benjamin Franklin. You got to get a great dose of failure in order to get the effects of success. “I can't give you a sure-fire formula for success, but I can give you a formula for failure: try to please everybody all the time.” ― Herbert Bayard Swope. Learn from your mistakes, that’s what almost all the teachers say to you after you get something wrong. Just fall back if you don’t want to go forward. It’s that easy. Just say “ I quit” and it’s all done. All the hard work you have done will be wasted. But why would you do that do yourself? The time you say “I quit” is when your about 100 years old and on your death bed with all the pain. Just climb the stairs folks. Fail, Fail, And Fail Again. I can’t give you the exact number of steps you got to take to get to the door of success. Just keep going. - Thank you
